The Remarried Empress: read the webtoon first
The Remarried Empress becomes a Disney+ drama on 4 November 2026 and an anime in 2027. Where to read the finished webtoon legally, and in which languages.
The Remarried Empress, one of WEBTOON's most read series, is coming to the screen twice. A live-action Korean drama starts on Disney+ on 4 November 2026, and an anime made for Crunchyroll was announced for 2027. The webtoon itself is finished, so you can read the whole story before either one starts. This page says what was announced and where to read it legally.
What was announced
- The drama: a live-action series starring Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk and Lee Se-young, on Disney+ from 4 November 2026, as reported by Korean and international press.
- The anime: announced at New York Comic Con on 9 October 2026, made by studio Troyca for Crunchyroll, planned for 2027.
- The bigger deal behind it: WEBTOON's Japanese company, Crunchyroll and the producer HAYATE plan about 15 anime from webtoons. Teenage Mercenary (J.C. Staff, 2027) and The Boxer were named with it.
This page reports what was public on 29 October 2026. Dates of streaming releases can move, so check Disney+ and Crunchyroll before you plan a watch.
Where to read the webtoon
- In English, the complete series is free to read on WEBTOON (webtoons.com and the WEBTOON app).
- In Korean, the original runs on Naver Webtoon.
- WEBTOON also publishes series in other languages, such as Spanish, French, German, Thai, Indonesian and Traditional Chinese. Check the language menu on WEBTOON for this title, because not every series is in every language.
- The story began as a web novel by Alphatart, adapted into the webtoon.
Reading it in another language
If The Remarried Empress is not published in your language, translating the pages you are reading is the part RuneManga helps with. The browser extension translates the pages on WEBTOON's website as you scroll, and puts the text back in the bubbles in your language. It works on pages you are allowed to read. It does not unlock episodes or copy them.
