Image translator

An image translator that rewrites the text in the picture

Upload an image or right-click one on any website. RuneManga finds the text, removes it and writes the translation back in, so the image reads as if it was made in your language.

What you can translate

Comics, manga and webtoons

Speech bubbles, caption boxes and text drawn on the art, page after page or a whole chapter at once.

Screenshots, posts and memes

A screenshot of an app or a page, a social post or a meme: the words are replaced, the picture stays.

Product images, signs and infographics

Labels, banners, slides and charts with printed text. Clear, printed text works best.

Three ways to translate an image

Upload it to the WebApp

Add PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and AVIF files, a ZIP or a whole folder, or paste a screenshot. Compare each result with the original and download it.

Right-click it on any website

With the browser extension, right-click an image and choose RuneManga, then Translate image. The translation replaces the image on the page.

Translate an area of the screen

For images a site doesn't let you save, draw a box around them with Translate an area, and the translation appears in its place.

Not a box over the picture

Many photo translators lay the translated words over the image in a box of their own. RuneManga erases the original lettering, fills in the background behind it and sets the translation in its place, sized to fit. If you want to change a line, a font or a color, the editor lets you do it by hand.

How the editor works

Languages and formats

Translate from Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Thai, or let RuneManga detect the language, into any of 89 languages. Images can be PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and AVIF.

Your images stay yours

Images are used only for your translation and deleted automatically about an hour after the job. They are not used to train models.

What it leaves as it is

Sound effects drawn into the art stay as they are. Hand-drawn or heavily stylized lettering is harder to read than printed text, so check those results.
